LIVING & WORKING IN SPACE!

How would you like to go into space? Would that be fun? What do you think we would find there? Would it be easy to live and work in space? Part of the challenge of being high above the Earth is that many of the items that allow us to survive on the Earth's surface are absent in space. Some of these things we take for granted "down here," but "up there," we find out real quick what we need to survive.

Why don't you take a minute and make a list, either by yourself or in a group, of the things you think we would need to take into space with us in order to survive. What do you think? Click here to see the answers!!!

Now look at your list and compare it to the items in the answer list. How did you do? Did you leave anything out? Did you have some items that weren't on the answer list? Now go over your list one more time and choose the item that you think is the most important item we need to take into space. Which would it be? Click here to see the answer!!!

If we are going to work outside the space shuttle, we will need to take most of these items with us. We do that in the form of a space suit! A space suit is one of the many items you might find in a science museum, along with other hands-on activities to help you learn about space. Lets take a look!
