Plan your next party, reception, or meeting at the Orpheum Children’s Science Museum.
Give your guests or colleagues an opportunity to meet and celebrate at the OCSM while the building is closed to the public. Guests can enjoy the museum’s exhibits and toys while supporting the Orpheum. The museum is a wonderful location for wedding receptions, anniversaries, or graduation ceremonies.
The museum does not provide food or party supplies, but you may certainly bring your own or arrange with a local caterer to provide food and refreshments. We require a $100 cleaning deposit and a $200 reservation fee. This cleaning deposit and half of the reservation fee is paid at the time of the scheduling and the remaining balance is due before the day of the party. Any families with young children are responsible for their safety and children are never to be left unattended. We ask that you leave the area clean at the end of the party and your cleaning deposit will be refunded within a week unless it’s necessary to do exceptional cleaning following the event. Private Parties, Wedding Receptions or Meetings - $200
- These are done during private hours in the conference/party room on the second floor
- Use of the party room and mezzanine for three hours while the museum is closed to the public museum hours
- 20-minute hands-on science presentation by a member of the museum staff is available by request, this is generally an animal show
- Private parties have use of all public areas of the museum and the mezzanine for food but we ask that food is not taken into exhibit areas

- Make arrangements with staff prior to your event for placement of tables and chairs.
Decorations and food are not provided, but please feel free to bring your own! Contact us for more information. Parties are traditionally three hours in length with staff available 1/2 hour before the start of the party to allow for set-up. Parties may be extended by 1/2 hour for an additional $50 pending on the availability of our facility. The gift shop will be open.
- We provide tables for food service but tablecloths are not provided. We also have a limited number of chairs to place around the museum for additional seating.
- We will provide trash bags, paper towels, brooms and dustpans for surface cleaning following the event. It is not necessary to do deep cleaning, but please make sure that food is either removed and placed in the trash, that dirty dishes are not left in the museum, tables are wiped clean and that food and beverage spills are cleaned and removed. Staff will be available to assist.
