To Student Pages/Project MIC

 

To expand the types of Classroom teaching pedagogies and resources- to enhance cooperative learning by providing students new ways of researching, exploring, presenting, sharing, and communicating information; to better serve, all students with their varied learning styles; to use more alternative assessments.

To integrate the comtent of the Fundamental Learning Areas- to create an unfragmented curriculum where students would cooperatively research a topic from numerous historical, artistic, scientific, or cultural perspectives; students using their writing, reading, and editing skills would create a home page on the Internet.

To help students become active, engaged, life-long learners- to prepare students to work in a technological, collaborative, problem-solving environment; to ensure students learn and practice high level thinking skills, employ different problem solving strategies, work and share with others, and utilize high order hardware and software.

To promote more parent/community input and involvement in their students' learning environment- to enrich the classroom setting with guest readers and speakers; students perform more self-evaluations and reflecting using portfolios and sharing them with parents.

To encourage extensive staff devlopment related to learning styles, technology, and alternative assessments- to build strong and diverse teachers who are comfortable with the technology and implementing its uses in their lessons.
