Greetings! My name is Mr. Issac H. Alexander. I was the first person to buy a store license from the county government of Champaign County, Illinois. I paid five dollars in November of 1833 for my license. I knew that I wanted a lot of people to know about my new store in Urbana but the town didn't have its own newspaper. So I advertised my store in the Danville Enquirer on December 7,1833. You can see a copy of this ad on my home page.
Please feel free to browse through my selection of newly arrived stock.
