Glassware

Glass plate and drinking glass

Drinking glasses, oil lamps, candlesticks, ink wells, saucers, dishes, and many other items made of glass were part of the everyday inventory of a 'general store.' Most families living in east Central Illinois owned at least some glassware. Window glass was also common and used in most homes, even log cabins. Many glass products were made in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Mr. Alexander would have kept a similar record.
