Bed Ticking, Apron Check, & Cotton Plaid

By 1833 most of the fabrics used in east Central Illinois were woven by power looms in textile mills in the east and shipped west. These included bed ticking, apron checks, and cotton plaid. Storekeepers like Mr. Alexander kept a supply of fabrics on hand at all times of the year.

Mr. Alexander would have kept a similar record.
